Oak swamp chestnut tree cultivation details

The tree grows well in areas which consist of stiff fertile loam soil conditions mostly grown in acidic and basic alkaline soil conditions and favours warmer climate. The tree bears its seed when the tree attains 25 years. Around spring time the tree bears flowers but the seed of this tree takes at least two summers to ripen. The seed of this tree needs to be stored in moist conditions otherwise it tends to lose its viability and these have to be protected from mice and squirrels. This tree also needs to be protected from colder climates, otherwise its woods would fail to ripen. These plants produce a taproot which needs to be immediately be transplanted otherwise the growth of this plant would be hindered. The tree is not adaptable to coarse and fine textured soil but it is adaptable to medium textured soil. It has no tolerance to CaCO3 and its drought resistance is quite low and has a low fire resistance. The minimum PH content needed for this plant is 4.50 and it could proceed up to a maximum of 6.50. The minimum perception required for this tree is 36 and touches the maximum perception rate at 60. The root depth of this tree is about 28 inches. Its reproduction period begins around mid spring and the fruit season of this plant begins from summer and exists till fall. The reproduction of this plant is propagated by its bare roots and by the seed but not propagated by the bulb. The tree does not act as a Christmas tree product or as a Nursery stock product.
